Persons who are appointed shall be responsible to complete the relevant checklist/register. When checklist/register is completed, it becomes a record. These records serve as proof that checks have been done in case of an incident and may be requested by Department of Employment and Labour in their investigation into such an incident. Ensure all records are properly dated and signed Use the ‘Training attendance Register’ when any in-house training is done, including Induction. Ensure all employees sign as proof that they have received the training and understood the content thereof. In the even of a reportable incident or a visit from the Department of Employment and Labour, Training Records will be reviewed, and it is therefore imperative to have these completed and up to date. Ensure employees know what they are signing for and that it doesn’t become just a tick box exercise. Retain all completed checklists and registers for at least 5 years in case where proof may be required due to quality, health, and safety issues.
